HALL, Sonia S. age 46 of Hamilton went home to be with the Lord Saturday October 4, 2008 while on a business trip to San Francisco. She was born in Hamilton on September 16, 1962 to parents Richard and Barbara (Bobbie Farthing) Purvis. Sonia was a graduate of Hamilton High School and also attended Miami University. She was employed as a social worker for the Alcohol and Chemical Abuse Council. She was also an active member of Lindenwald Baptist Church as a Youth Counselor and served helping to watch the younger children in the nursery. Over the years Sonia served as President, Vice President, Treasurer, etc. for Hamilton High School's Drama Department (Honor Thespian), Rhapsody in Blue show choir, and marching band. At work she was heavily involved in the character program (Kidz-N-Character). Her job allowed her to touch the lives of countless children and families in Butler County. She is survived by her loving husband of twenty seven years, Denver; cherished daughters, Ashley and Sarah; loving mother Barbara (Bobbie) Farthing; step father Carl Hamblin; sisters Eugenia "Genia" (Richard) Richmond, Anita (Scott) Lee, Larissa Purvis, stepbrother Greg Hamblin; stepsister Kim Hamblin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and many dear friends all of whom she shared her heart with. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Purvis. She gave of herself unconditionally and truly blessed all those around her. Sonia was truly loved by all who knew her. Her warm smile, loving and generous personality, and desire to help anyone she could will be greatly missed. Visitation at the Lindenwald Baptist Church, 460 Symmes Road Fairfield, Friday October 10, 2008 from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Randy Moore, officiating. Burial to follow in Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sonia Hall Memorial Fund at any Fifth-Third Bank.
