Charlie Eugene Acord, 85, of Glen Fork, WV passed on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Raleigh General Hospital after a short illness.
He was born December 15, 1930 in Glen Fork, WV, a son of the late Walter William Acord (1902-1975) and Thelma Adkins-Acord (1907-1991). He was a faithful Christian, having served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. He was a retired Senior Master Sgt. with 30 years in the US Air Force and he retired from Harris Mine after 13 years.
In addition to his parents three brothers preceded him in death Robert Harold Acord (1927-2015), David Earl Acord (1933-2013) and Roger Claude Acord (1941-2006).
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Gwendolyn Sue Acord; two step sons Brandon Baldwin and (fiancé` Kelly Thorton) of Jesse and Michael (Tammie) Tolliver of Biloxi, MS; a sister Mable "Pat" Acord-Lambert and her son Chip Lambert of Glen Fork; a brother Dale (Mary) Acord of Glen Fork; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday April 9, 2016 at Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco with Rev. Michael Tolliver officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
