Prayers will be said Monday evening at 8:00 p.m, in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, with Requiem High Mass on Tuesday September 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Winnipeg Beach with interment in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Mr. Russin was born in the Ukraine and came to Canada and the Melnice district with his family at an early age. As a young man he taught school at Prout, Man., and later went into partnership with Mr. J.W. Wolchuk in the General Store at Winnipeg Beach. He later became Postmaster in which capacity he served for forty-three years retiring in 1958. He·was very active in community affairs having served a number of years on the Winnipeg Beach Council and School Board.
Mr. Russin was predeceased by his wife Gertrude in 1957 and leaves to mourn his passing his son Ben of Winnipeg Beach and four daughters, Mrs. C. (Doris) Wolchuk of Winnipeg Beach, Mrs. R. S. (Angie) Brown of Brandon, Mrs. R. (Agnes) Brazier of Winnipeg· and Mrs. J. (Georgianne) Chudo of Winnipeg, his brother Michael Russin of Winnipeg Beach and 14 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Manitoba Heart Fund.
