Guy J. Senft, 74, of Porter's Sideling, died at 11a.m., Monday, May 10, 1999, at the home of his son. He was the husband of Ruth N. (Luckenbaugh) Senft, to whom he was married for 48 years. The service will be 10a.m., Thursday, at the Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove. Burial will be in St. Peter's (Lischey's) Church Cemetery, Spring Grove, RD 5. Viewings will be 7 to 9p.m., today, and 9 to 10a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Mr. Senft was born June 21, 1924, in Porter's Sideling. He was the son of the late Hamilton and Mabel (Becker) Senft. He worked at York Corrugating Company, retiring in 1989, after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Peter's (Lischey's) United Church of Christ, Private Allen J. Beck, Jr. Spring Grove Post 5265 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Porter's Volunteer Fire Company, and Hanover Lodge 227 Loyal Order of Moose. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Senft also is survived by four sons, Donald Senft, of Hanover; Timothy Senft, of Porter's Sideling; Patrick Senft, of New Oxford; and Guy Scent II, of Dover; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Senft, of Hanover; and six sisters, Jenny Stambaugh, of York; Romaine Haar and Leona Ernst, both of Spring Grove; Edna Kemper and Helen Klinedinst, both of Hanover; and Florence Keeney, of Florida. Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Arthur W. Grahe. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Services, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, 17331.
