Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gladfelter Funeral Home.
Mr. Sorenson was born Dec. 25, 1918 in Tyler, Minn., to Carl Sorn and Remoor (Marker) Sorenson. He married Luella Irene Sibert on Aug. 3, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He retired from Newtson Iron and Metal Co. in 1990 after 49 years of employment. He was a veteran of World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Larry (Shirley) of Chicago and Roy Jr. "Sonny" (Mary Jo) of Grand Ridge; a daughter, Ruth Ann (James "Smoke") Walters of Mendota; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Sibert of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard, and a great granddaughter, Keyonna Crain.
Memorials may be directed to the church building fund.
