Daughter of Nathaniel and Mehitable Smith Webster. Married James Vance and after his death at age 30, she married his brother, Israel Burrill Vance. She and James had at least one child, Emeline. According to the 1840 Greensboro, VT federal census, she and Israel, called Burrell in the census, had at least four children (all daughters); Elizabeth Emerson, Catherine M. and Helen Vance. The fourth daughter's name is yet unknown.

Elizabeth died of Cholera Morbis at 42 Saratoga St., Boston, the home of her daughter Elizabeth Emerson Vance and her husband Thomas L Manson. According to her MA death record entry found in the Ancestry database Mass, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, she was buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is buried in the same plot as her daughter, son-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Elizabeth is the maternal 2nd great grandmother of Rear Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Jr. He was the son of Admiral Chester William and Catherine Vance Freeman Nimitz.
