According to her MA 1899 death record she was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Webster Vance. She was a widow. Her husband was George F Crosby. She died in Boston from cancer and was buried in Everett, MA. Her father was born in Fisherville, NH (unincorporated area inside town limits of Concord, NH) and her mother was born in Cabot, VT. Emeline was 86y 07m old, and she was a resident of Boston. According to the Chelsea, MA birth records Emeline M Crosby, b. 1 April 1813, was apparently born in Chelsea. That is not true. The source of that info is her gravemarker and not a birth record which is very confusing. The birth records that source G.R. xxx (a number) usually refer to a grave stone inscription. G.R. is short for Grave Record. So, that person may or may not have been born in the town in which their grave marker is located. Also noted in this record are Emelines's son, George Crosby (b. 1838 and his wife Mary S Haynes Crosby, b. 1841. They are probably buried in Wooodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
