Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Nova Schubert Bair was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Iberia, Mo., to William Arthur and Mona B. Schubert. She resided in Amarillo and later moved to Garland. Nova graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon with a music degree and from Bible college. She taught piano at the Amarillo Conservatory of Music until she retired, and still taught private lessons in her home. She composed music and was a poet, having published several books, including "Journey to Jerusalem." She was a world traveler, gathering material for her poetry. Nova was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she played the organ and hand bells.
She will be missed by all of her family and friends, but we know that she is in heaven, directing and singing with the choir of angels, composing music and writing poetry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde C. Bair; her parents; an infant son, William Arthur Bair; two brothers, Fendorf Schubert and John Schubert; a sister; and a nephew, Larry Caldwell.
Survivors include two nephews, Burton Schubert and wife Suzie of Spearman and Jerald Caldwell and wife Becky of Sachse; a niece, Marilyn Schubert Groves and husband Fred of Greenville; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
