The couple went to their claim in Griggs, Oklahoma. They moved in 1911 to establish a home in Hansford County where they pioneered farming. She became a Christian in 1906 and was a member of the Spearman Union Church since 1923. She was a member of the Spearman Home Demonstration Club where her specialty was home baked bread. She was an associate member of the Spearman Federated Music Club. Survivors include two sons; two daughters; four brothers; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandchild.
