Mrs. A. H. Lecomte.
Death is always sad, but when it comes suddenly and unexpectedly it is doubly so. This was the case on Sunday morning just before day when that of Mrs. Lecomte occurred, the circumstances under which it happened stirring the hearts of all Natchitoches in sympathy with the bereaved family.
The health of the deceased has been absolutely perfect all fall and it was a terrible shock when her youngest daughter Miss Effie found her in the yard Friday afternoon between two and three o'clock, in an unconscious condition. Help was summoned at once and everything done that science and love could do, but the unfortunate lady never regained consciousness and died from the stroke of apoplexy which attacked her without any warning. Her children were summoned, the last daughter from Oklahoma reaching her just in time for the funeral on Monday morning.
Besides a husband, three daughters, two sons, two sisters and several grand children, she leaves many other relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a lovely character in which were combined all the traits that rightfully gained her their love and respect.
