Oneonta Star
October 27, 1909

Mrs. Delia Potter of 17 Cedar Street, a brief announcement of whose death was made in yesterday's Star, was born at Belleville, Jefferson county, 63 years ago. She was a daughter of John and Lucy Hall and was married in 1866 to Charles A. Potter. She had been confined to her bed since June and although her death was not unexpected, it will be a great loss to her family and the sympathy of all their acquaintances will be extended them.

Mrs. Potter had been a resident of Oneonta for over 27 years and was a consistent member and a regular attendant, as long as her health permitted, of the Methodist Episcopal church, and was prominently identified with all kinds of church work. She was a loving and cheerful mother and the family life was ideal. A woman of high Christian principles and of a loving and sweet disposition, her death will cause a vacancy in the family circle which can never be filled.

She is survived by seven children, Edna H. Potter, Mrs. Cora Leonard, Maud Potter, Helen Potter and Clark Potter, all of Oneonta, Arthur Potter of Binghamton, and Mrs. Henry Heinmiller of Albany, and four sisters, Mrs. Morgan Strickland and Mrs. Lester Anstead, both of Adams, Jefferson county, Mrs. Allan Elliot of Ragan, Neb., and Mrs. W. E. Blanchard of Oneonta.

The funeral will be held from her late home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. T. G. Dickinson of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating. The interment will be made in the Glenwood cemetery.
