Mrs. Cora P. Dryden
HARTWICK – Mrs. Cora P. Dryden, 83, this village, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday in the Clark Nursing Home, Oneonta, where she had been a patient for two months.
Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Patterson Funeral Home here. The Rev. Leonard Davis, pastor of the Edmeston Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be later in Hartwick Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.
She was born August 29, 1873, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Charles A. Della (Hall) Potter. She was twice married. In 1898, she was married to Russell Leonard in Oneonta. He died in 1902. In 1913, she was married to Bert Dryden of Adams Center. He died December 22, 1955.
Mrs. Dryden spent her early years in Oneonta where she graduated from Oneonta Union School after which she was a teacher for a few years in the district schools of the county. She had been a resident of Rochester and Mount Vision and for the past 17 years, lived in Hartwick.
She was a member of the Hartwick Methodist Church, its WSCU, and the Hartwick WCTU.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles Briscoe of Hartwick, and Mrs. Morton VanHoesen of Elmira; a son, Stanley Leonard of Providence, Rhode Island; two step-daughters, Mrs. Florence Schroll and Mrs. Bessie Lergner both of Rochester; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Clark Potter of Oneonta; a sister, Mrs. Maude Mattison of Schenectady; several nieces and nephews.
