Funeral services for Lela Lorilla Maples were held Wednesday, Sept. 13 at First Baptist Church in Union City with Rev. Eric Stock officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Maples died Sept. 10, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Hickory County, Mo. She had lived in Union City and Minco most of her life. She was a homemaker and farmer and member of First Baptist Church and Eastern Star.
She married Reedy Winton Maples on Jan. 17, 1932. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1973.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles S. and Edna Mae (Hunt) Brown; son, Jack A. Maples on April 19, 1998; a stillborn son on Nov. 12, 1952; brothers, Archie Brown and Quentin Brown; and sisters, Opal Halverson, Fern Brown and Maedean Brown.
She is survived by sons, Reedy Maples Jr. of Union City and Larry Bob Maples and wife, Madaline of Union City; sisters, Marie Morrison, Anna Lou Gabehart and Emma Dee Harrison; four grandchildren, Terry Maples, Bobby Maples, Pete Maples and Cyndi Jennings; and six great-grandchildren, Cole, Brad, Amber, Mary Beth, Hannah and Preston.
