PAGE CARPENTER, 89, of rural Perrysville, died Sunday morning, January 17, 2016 at his home following a five-month illness.

Mr. Carpenter was born December 6, 1926 in Leatherbark, West Virginia and was the son of the late Guy and Dora (Price) Carpenter. He had been a resident of the Loudonville-Perrysville area since 1959 and was a 27-year employee of U-Brand Corp/Union Malleable of Ashland, retiring in 1992. Mr. Carpenter enjoyed tinkering with everything, being a shade-tree mechanic, and playing blue-grass music on his guitar. On July 21, 1954 he married Dorothy Greathouse and she died January 15, 1988.

He is survived by three daughters, JoAnn (Paul Wilson) Black of Perrysville, Bernice (Steve) Lepley of Loudonville, and Donna Affron of Orrville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; his girlfriend, Joann Heilman and her daughter, Betty Jo, both of Red Haw; one brother, Watson (Norma) Carpenter of Ashland; two sisters, Ada Starr of Wooster and Delma Endicott of West Virginia; two half-sisters, Karen Bodily of California and Sharon Stump of West Virginia; two step-sisters, Daisy Boyce and Carol (Don) Falls, all of West Virginia; and two sisters-in-law, Vicki Aldrich of South Carolina and Helen Carpenter of West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Guy Vane Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 21, at 11:00 a.m. in LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE with Cathy Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call one hour prior to services from 10 - 11 on Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home on behalf of the family to help defray expenses.
