The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced that U.S. Army Master Sergeant Harold F. Drews, 21, killed during the Korean War, was accounted for Nov. 5, 2019.

In December 1950, Drews was a Light Weapons Assault Infantryman assigned to King Company, 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. For several days, his unit was engaged in intense fighting with the Chinese People’s Volunteer Forces near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea (the Battle of Chosin Reservoir). MSgt Drews went missing in action on Dec. 12, 1950. His remains could not be recovered. Also see the National Korean War Veterans Memorial: Find A Grave Memorial 118187577.
