ROPP, Ivan William Ivan, a gentle and loving soul passed away peacefully at Nithview Community surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Ivan was born 92 years ago in Mornington Township and was the son of the late William and Magdalena (Steckley) Ropp. Beloved husband of Mildred (Boshart) Ropp of New Hamburg (Nithview Community) with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage. Loving father of Sandra and Orie Albrecht of Wellesley, Joyce and Wayne Leis of New Hamburg, Cheryl and Rodney Erb of RR#1 Millbank, and Darrell and Shirley Ropp of Wellesley. Sadly missed by his grandchildren and great-grand- children Pamela Albrecht and David MacLaren and their daughters Abigail and Magdalena, Angela and Bruce Rohr and their sons Samuel and Jonas, Andrea Albrecht and her son Josh, Lisa and Nick Blackburn and their daughters Daelia and Tilly, Shawn Leis and Becky Martin and his children Daniella and Riley, Scott and Lindsay Leis and their children Dylan, Lauren and Hudson, Jody and Kristine Leis, Tanya Erb and Morgan Carlson, Paul Erb, Jesse and Jacqueline Erb and their son Austin, Jill and John Koehle and their sons Carter and Zackary, Jeff Ropp. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Lloyd Ropp of Kitchener, Blanche Ropp of Stratford, Norma and Merlin Lichty of Wellesley. He was predeceased by his son Kevin (2014), granddaughter Ginger Ropp, brother Lincoln Ropp, sister Doris Ropp, sister-in-law Marjorie and Wesley Steckly and brother-in-law Ralph and Ionabell Boshart. He was a founding and active member of Wellesley Mennonite Church exemplifying gracious living, good stewardship and faithfulness to his Lord. In his declining years Ivan attended worship service at Nithview Community. Ivan owned and operated Ropp Pro Hardware in Wellesley for many years and in his retirement still offered a helping hand at the store. He was an active part of the Wellesley community. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, January 1, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A public grave side service will take place on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Rush's Cemetery, RR#1 Millbank at 12:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at Wellesley Mennonite Church at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Kara Carter officiating.
