ITHACA - Lucille N. Wright, wife of the late Carlton E. Wright, age 93, of 506 Savage Farm Drive, Ithaca, New York, died Monday, August 25, 2008.
She was born January 12, 1915 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Neumann.
She received the degrees of B.A. and B.L.S. from the University of Buffalo, and the M.A. in English from Cornell University.
She taught English in Eden, New York and was school librarian in Eden High School, Bennett High School in Buffalo, New York, and at Ithaca High School. She was also librarian in the White Plains Public Library, and the Martha Van Rensselaer Hall Library at Cornell. She also did agricultural bibliography in Cornell's Mann Library.
She was a member of the first Congregational Church of Ithaca, serving as church school teacher and librarian of the Edward L. Christie Library.
An active volunteer in the First Congregational Church, the Ithaca community, and at Cornell University, she was especially interested in the Friends of the Library and was active in the Friends of the Library Book Sale. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter B5.
Interment will be in the Colchester, Vermont, Village Cemetery. A Memorial Service in the First Congregational Church of Ithaca will be announced at a later date.
