George Blakemore lived at Blackmore's Station, Scott County, Virginia, on the Clinch River about 18 miles north of Long Island of Holston River.
From February 1 to March 31, 1777, he was a Drummer Boy serving various units in and around his frontier station. He was a soldier on the payroll of Capt. Joseph Martin's Company, under Major Anthony Bledsoe in the Rye Cove on Clinch River.
