Mae Breedlove Clark, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at a private nursing home in Conway, AR. She was born in West Plains, MO on February 28, 1911.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ed Clark, her parents George Franklin Breedlove & Bertha Barham Breedlove, 2 sisters Bessie B. Johnson, Ruby Mary Heller and 2 grandsons, Jim & Burke Clark.

Her family moved to Russellville, AR when she was 3 years old, and she graduated from Russellville High School in 1928. She graduated from Arkansas Tech University with an associate degree. She was a cheerleader in both high school and college and a homecoming maid in college.

Her greatest joy was being with children. She taught Sunday School in the primary department at First Baptist Church in Russellville as a teenager. After marrying and moving to Little Rock, she taught for many more years in the primary department at Calvary Baptist Church. She worked at Tot-to-Teen Shoe Store for over 35 years selling to generations of children. In her later years she was known affectionately to family and friends as "Grandmae."


Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Jimmy E. and Edna Clark of Albany, George B. and Gayle Clark of Conway; six grandchildren, Barnes Clarke, Dell Kaldor, Cynthia Davison, Houston Clark, George Bennett Clark, Caroline Clark; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.


Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 29, 2001 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. Graveside service will be at 3:00PM at the Oakland Cemetery at Russellville, Ar under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Ser
