Frances Brownfield Christmann passed away Dec. 30, 2015, in Patagonia, Ariz., from pancreatic cancer. This was just two weeks shy of her 102nd birthday.

She was born in Brownfield, Texas, on Jan. 16, 1914. Lubbock, Texas, was her home for over 40 years after marrying John J. Christmann from Denver, Colo.

She was a member of Chapter AA PEO in Lubbock and Chapter BE in Pinedale, Wyo. She was also a Delta Gamma. She received her pilot’s license soon after she and John were married. The couple bought a ranch in Pinedale, Wyo., which they owned and operated for over 40 years.

Soon after her husband’s death, she became involved in the cutting-horse industry as an owner and spectator. She truly lived life to the fullest and through her love of travel, she gave the whole family a thirst for adventure.

So loved by all, this elegant lady is survived by her four children Louanne Shultz of Louisville, Ky., John Christmann of Weatherford, Texas, Alice Garland of Spokane, Wash., and Don Christmann of Patagonia, Ariz., seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also has a godchild, Bill Brownfield.
