M. V. Brownfield, father of Brownfield, Texas, slipped one over his many friends when he left Lubbock Tuesday a week ago, presumably as a Dallas fair visitor. Mr. Brownfield knew his business better than anyone however, and when he reached Sweetwater, he sidetracked to Hilton and there took unto himself a bride, Miss Augusta Youngblood. Mr. and Mrs. Brownfield went from there to the fair and returned to Lubbock Friday afternoon, spending the night with his daughter Mrs. Roscoe Wilson, leaving Saturday for their home at Brownfield. The Avalanche joins a concourse of friends in wishing for these people a full share of the good things of this world's happiness. (The Lubbock Avalanche, Lubbock, Tex., Oct 31, 1912)
