Alice A. Tomchek, age 91, a resident of St. Mary's Home, entered into eternal
rest Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Catholic Church,
Manitowoc, by the Rev. Thomas Wojciechowski on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim.
Alice was born on March 10, 1913 in Manitowoc, to the late Michael and Antoinette
Gospodarek. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1931, and later married
Benjamin F. Tomchek on Oct. 28, 1939 in Manitowoc. Alice was a member of St.
Mary Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a past member of St.
Mary Rosary and Altar Society.
Survivors include three children: Allen (Pat) of Waukesha; Gary (Nancy) of
Manitowoc; Mary Tomchek of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Mike (Kathy); David
(Denise); Mark (Kay); Jeff; Peter (Peggy); Brad (Jamie); Johnna; Linda (Jon)
Stefaniak; 10 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law: Sheryl Neal; also other
relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents and husband;
a son: John; and a daughter: Rita; also six brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Friday from 10 a.m.
until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, is assisting the Tomchek family
with funeral arrangements.
