Reubin Tolbert, an aged citizen who for many years has resided on Straight Mountain died Tuesday. He had been in ill health for some time. His death was due to kidney failure. Mr. Tolbert was 75 years of age and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. The deceased is survived by two sons, John J. Tolbert, Oneonta and L.C. Tolbert, of route 4, Oneonta; four daughters, Mrs. J.R, Lowe, of route 1, Remlap; Mrs Ella Silvey, of route 3, Oneonta; Mrs. Lera Cornelius, of route 3, Oneonta; and Mrs. Della Woodard, of route 3 Oneonta; one sister, Mrs. Martha McClendon, of route 2, Oneonta.
The funeral services are being held at Antioch Wednesday and are being conducted by Rev. J.A. Waid, with Wade in charge.

Reuben A. Tolbert was the son of William M. Tolbert and Mahulda Washburn. He first married Nancy Ann Phillips 4 Jan 1881 in St. Clair County, Alabama, daughter of Joseph Phillips and Anna Copeland. Children of Reubin and Nancy Ann were: John Joseph Tolbert and Lue Ellar Tolbert. Reubin's second marriage was to Margaret Victoria Gargus 20 Dec 1885 in St. Clair County, Alabama, daughter of William Henry Gargus Jr. and Sarah Jane Smith. Children of Reuben and Margaret Victoria were William Henry Tolbert, Martha A. Tolbert, Son Tolbert, Jessie Levi Tolbert, Lera Tolbert, Lawrence Calvin Tolbert, and Della Tolbert Woodard.
