She was a resident of Sausalito, CA, and 81 at the time of her death.
She is survived by two sons, Dennis of Redding, CA, and Robert of Sausalito, CA; three grandchildren which she loved dearly, Dion Halkides of Redding, Darin Halkides of Portland, OR, and Daria Halkides-Beck of Mt. Morris, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, George Halkides.
Margaret grew up in Humboldt County, California, the daughter of David and Bessie Viale, along with 6 brothers and one sister; she married George after high school and moved to Los Angeles. They moved to Redding in 1985, primarily to be near their grandchildren. Margaret was a full time homemaker and mother and grandmother extraordinaire and is loved dearly and will be missed deeply by her family and her many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2/24/05 from 4-8pm at Sanders funeral home in Eureka, CA. Graveside services will be held Friday, 2/25/05 at 10am at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka, CA.
