Margaret Nobles Roberson, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 12, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert Edwin Nobles and Jenny Hawkins Nobles.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday at 12 pm in Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberson lived the majority of her life in Pitt County. In 1952 she married her lifelong love of 62 years, William Hardy Roberson who passed away in April 2015.

Margaret worked at Carolina Telephone and Telegraph in the early years of their marriage. Through love of outdoors and a passion for flowers, they started what was to become Roberson’s Nursery and Landscaping. Many buildings and homes in and around the Greenville area are a great reminder today of Mrs. Roberson’s ability for landscape design and her love and pride in her work.
Mrs. Roberson enjoyed people and was very active in helping others. The most passionate part of her was family. She loved each and every one of them with an unselfish unconditional love. Always a giver, never a taker. Even on her worst days she never complained. Her diagnosis of dementia slowly took her joy and great enthusiasm for life.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Roberson was predeceased by eleven brothers and sisters.

She was the last sibling of twelve, Annie Louise Nobles Mizelle, David Henry Nobles, Thelma Gladys Nobles Griffin, James Earl Nobles, Herbert Edwin Nobles, Jr., Willie Simon Nobles, Joseph Lawrence Nobles, Kenneth Russell Nobles, Jessie Ray Nobles and Jack Alden Nobles.

Mrs. Roberson is survived by her two children, Swanee Roberson Joyner and husband, Mel of Simpson and William Douglas Roberson and wife, Donna of Greenville; three granddaughters, Michelle Aldridge and husband, Mark, LeAnn Bailey and husband, Brad, and Hannah Roberson; two grandsons, John Roberson, and Zachary Roberson; one great-granddaughter, Megan Aldridge; and many nieces and nephews.

The family was blessed to have the wonderful care and support of Aseracare Home Health and Hospice during Mrs. Roberson’s illness. Ella Roberson was of particular assistance.
