Marjorie Eileen Hudzik (nee Cavanaugh) originally of Roseland and 50-year resident of Glenwood died Monday, December 7, 2015 after a brief illness. She was 92 years old. Wife of the late James and mother of James (Marijo) of Flossmoor, Robert (Teresa) of Naperville, Richard (Rebecca) of Westchester, and John (Lindsay Gladstone) of Park Forest, grandmother of 10, and great grandmother of 16 (almost 17). She was the daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Mamie Cavanaugh and dear sister of Mary Limbach of Bonfield, James Cavanaugh of Crete and the late Florence Lyman. She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, Homewood for 50 years. She was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady and of Mundelein College. Marge taught fifth grade for many years at McKinley Elementary School in Chicago Heights and before that at St. Ann Catholic School in Prairie Village, Kansas. She was, however, most proud of her family and took great joy in their achievements, milestones, and increasing numbers. Her grammar was precise, her skill with crosswords legendary, and humor and caring spirit enjoyed by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Resting at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy. Homewood Friday, December 11th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday December 12th 9:15 a.m. to St. Joseph Church, 17951 Dixie Hwy. Homewood. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Assumption Cemetery.
