Marie Crye, 79, of Etowah, passed away on Friday evening, Dec. 4, 2015, at a local health care facility.

Born in McMinn County on Jan. 20, 1936, to the late Floyd and Minnie Tucker, she was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dessie Ann Standifer; and a son-in-law, Larry Key.

She is survived by children, Pat Key of Calhoun, and Jamie Orr and wife, Norma, of Tellico Plains; grandchildren, Crystal Long, Tonya Long, Stephanie Spear, Allison Orr Carroll, Carmin Chastain and Brandi Owenby; and great-grandchildren, Parker, Avery, Damon, Aspen and Jace. Several siblings, nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

A Celebration of Life and Home Going of Marie Crye will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Cheatham officiating.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Mars Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the services.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
