Although it would generally be difficult to state with a high degree of certainty that this Electa Smart is the daughter of John and Alvira Smart based solely on the age and state of birth given on a death record, I am highly confident that this is correct. In 1825 there were very few families in Vermont with the name Smart, and having searched records of Towns where Smarts were listed in the US Census, I have only ever found one Electa, and she would have been just over 78 in December of 1904.
