Services for Mrs. Leota Haire, of Wheeler, TX were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015, at the Church of Christ - Wheeler Area in Wheeler, TX, with Shawn Zybach and Garland Dukes, officiating. Burial followed in Wheeler Cemetery, under the direction of Peppers Family Funeral Home in Wheeler, Texas.

Leota Marie (Adams) Haire was born on June 11, 1936 in Goodnight, TX, to the late William Earston Adams and Hester Leona (Tidwell) Adams. She was the third of six children. Leota went to her permanent home on November 19, 2015, at the age of 79, in Wheeler, TX. Leota grew up and attended school in McLean, Texas, then graduated her last year from Clarendon High School. After graduation, Leota married Delbert Haire in Clovis, NM, on July 20, 1955. Delbert was in the Air Force, and while raising their two daughters Sharon and Peggy, they lived in several places including Altus, OK, McLean, TX, and McGuire AFB, NJ. After retiring, the family made their home in Vacaville, CA. After their daughter's graduations, Leota and Delbert moved to Perryton, TX to make their home from 1976 until 1991. Leota and Delbert then moved to Wheeler, TX, where they remained. Over the years the family grew when Sharon married Rickey Brown in 1975, and then Peggy married Ricky Smithey in 1976. Leota has one granddaughter, Jeramie, who is married to Wade Heldermon. Leota has three great-grandsons, Jarrett, Jaton, and Jayson Heldermon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two of her sisters, Deila and Leona Sue. Leota is survived by two brothers, Earston and James; one sister, Iva Mae. She is also survived by her Aunt Almeda Sue and Ronald Boehning; sister and brother-in-laws: Arite Tidwell, Joy and Jerry Riley, Joan and Bill McCarty, Connie and Bill Cedarburg, Mike and Sandy Haire; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would appreciate donations to the Church of Christ - Wheeler Area.
