Their children are listed in Carroll Co. 1850 census. The stone house they lived in sold in 1857. Both are buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.

John Delaplaine (1793-1868), older son of Joshua and Mary Derr, married the socially prominent Sophia Charlton (1796-1875). Since they had many daughters, but no sons, they did not perpetuate the Delaplaine name. A number of their daughters married very well. Cornelia and Anna did not marry.
