Nicholas was a member of Park Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He retired from Excello (Textron) Corporation and had been a volunteer with the Graafschap Fire Department. He also sang in the Trinity Male Chorus.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his daughter, Myra Blauwkamp, in 2009; sisters, Julia Ensing, Louise Laninga and Wilma Le Febre; and brothers, Harold Blystra and Andrew Blystra.
Nicholas is survived by his wife, children, 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; siblings, in-laws.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday, December 4, at Park Church, 1496 W 32nd Ave., Holland, with Rev. Nick Blystra officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Visiting hours are scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Memorial contributions may be made to Holland Christian Schools and The Back To God Hour.
