Mr. Miles was born May 5, 1909 in Hardy, Ark., attended schools in Arkansas and served two years with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He moved to Kellogg in 1925. He was a retired miner and a member of VFW Post 1675 at Osburn.
Survivors are his wife, Zella; two sons, Gary R. Miles, Mountain Home, Idaho, and Robert D. Miles, Wallace; a daughter, Mrs. Gene Nearing, Kinston; a brother, Kenneth Miles, Osburn; a sister, Eileen Keffner, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
