Annie K. Anderson Patton, 91, of Athens, passed away on Sunday morning, Nov. 22, 2015, at her residence.

She was born April 5, 1924, to John and Emma Kyker Anderson in the Union Grove Community near Niota. "Kay," as she was known to family and friends, was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Athens, where she sang in both the Adult and the Senior Adult choirs. She also served at one time as a G.A. leader and was an active participant in the Women on Mission Group.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy Everett Patton; son-in-law, David McCormack; five brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Emily McCormack of Athens, and Beverly Patton and her husband, David Lones, of Buckingham, Va.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Anderson of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral services at noon on Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Athens with the pastor, Dr. Jason Clark, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Patton's memory to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church.
