Born September 22, 1934, in Mingo Junction, OH, she was the daughter of the late Michele Joseph Panetta (1905–1977) and Adeline DiCarlo Panetta (1910–1974); wife of Frank A O'Brien (1932–2006).
A former stewardess with American Airlines, a former manager at Mr. Microwave in Spartanburg, and secretary at Magnolia Title Agency, Inc.
A member of Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Spiritual Life & Worship Committee, Fast Lane Seniors Group, and Fellowship Committee; a former volunteer with Second Presbyterian Church Soup Kitchen, Foothills Travelers Association, and Family Motor Coach Association.
Also survived by a daughter, Erin O'Brien; sons, Chip (Dee) O'Brien, Kerry (Cathy) O'Brien, Terry (Janell) O'Brien, and Colin (Kelly O'Brien); sister, Theresa Marie Panetta Bonaventura (1933–2015); brother Carl William Panetta (1937–2014); and eight grandchildren.
Also predeceased by a brother, Joseph Anthony Panetta (1932–1986)
A prayer vigil began on Monday, August 21, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, with visitation following at the chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, conducted by Rev. Eugene Leonard, Rev. Charles Snopek, and Rev. Michael J. Polewczak; burial was at Westwood Memorial Gardens.
Memorials could be made to The Building Fund, Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, Spartanburg, SC; or to Interim Hospice, Spartanburg, SC.
