EDMOND — Funeral services for James Henry Long, 80, of Edmond are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
Long was born May 6, 1926, in Dennison, Texas. He died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, in Edmond.
Long was a decorated veteran of the Philippine wars during World War II, and he was promoted to lieutenant in the U.S. Army the day the war ended.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Bertha (Spence) Long; his brother, Melvin Long; and his grandson, Christopher Long.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances (Norman) Long of Edmond; three children, John Long and Steve Long, both of Crescent, and Kathy Ashley of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
