Alta Lucile Hall Ewell returned to her Heavenly Father on August 21, 2006 due to complications from a stroke. She passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born at home in Highland, Utah on January 23, 1931 to Oscar H. and Nida Mary Adamson Hall. Alta married Merrill R. Ewell on February 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. She will be missed by her husband and her six children, Merilee (Don) Chapman of Riverton, UT; Jeffrey (Gayle) of Ferron, UT; Lisa (Merl) Guth and Aaron (Anisa) of Pleasant Grove, UT; Thayne (Kelley) of Lehi, UT; Chad (Lucinda) of American Fork, UT; 39 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family, the gospel, and family history. Her surviving siblings are Betty Hancock, Clayton, Jim, Robert, Ella Mae Hansen, Jay and Keith. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Virginia Hall and Diane Taylor and brother Ed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug 25, 2006 at 11 am in the Garden Stake Center, 1028 W 1000 N, Pleasant Grove. Viewing, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork and at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
