After graduating from Indiana Business College, she worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at Simmon's Hardware. She was a homemaker.
She attended the old one room school on North Washington Street, (Known as the Quick School) until 1922 when the family moved to Clifty Township and she attended New Penn Grade School and the Freshman and Sophomore grades of high School. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1926. That fall, she returned to Columbus High School for some commercial classes. She graduated from Indiana Business College in 1927.
They became members of the East Lynn Christian Church in 1938 and were active there until health problems arose. She was a member of East Lynn Crusader's Class and CWF. She was a member of Kilbuck Retirees.
She is survived by her son, Nelson McNealy & wife Jacquilyn of Summitville; three grandchildren: Gregory E. & wife Denise McNealy of Westfield; Phillip D. & wife Kelly McNealy of Muncie; and Jill D. & husband Mark Scholer of Yorktown; and great grandchildren: Sara Bailey of Frankton, Ryan & Kelly Scholer of Yorktown and Jamie & Jordan Lennartz of Muncie. Other survivors are her sister & brother-in-law, Iolus & Lester Schlehuser of North Carolina; Stephen & Nancy Schlehuser & family of North Carolina; Sue & Orvis Chaffin & daughter of West Virginia; Sara & James Mayfield & family of Maryland and Charles & Carolyn Schlehuser of Lafayette.
She was preceded by her Husband whom she married December 16, 1933: Arthur Edward McNealy who passed away on June 13, 1993. Parents: Lawrence E. & Mary Ann (Ping) Stuckey. One Granddaughter: Beth Ann in 1997.
Services will be Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 2:00 PM, at Norman Funeral Home-Hope, Indiana, with Rev. Susan Cameron and Rev. Mike Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery, Columbus, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2004 at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson and 12-2:00 PM, Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Norman Funeral Home-Hope, Indiana.
