Kansas City, Mo. - "James K. "Kink" Dake, 88, Kansas City, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at a Kansas City hospital.
Mr. Dake had been employed as a grain miller for 35 years, working for ADM, Krause and Larabee Milling.
Born Feb. 13, 1914, in Dixon, Mo., he had resided in St. Joseph, Mo. for many years. He moved to Kansas City in 1998.
Mr. Dake was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he had been a deacon. He also was a member of the American Federated Grain Millers Union Local No. 16.
On May 26, 1934, he married the former Frankie M. West. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2002.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. and Harriett (Wallace) Dake; two brothers, Bob Dake and Raymond Dake; and two sisters, Josephine Flinn and Virginia Edwards. Survivors: two daughters, Judy Jo Dake Cook and Ann Dake; and grandson, Tod Cook, all of Kansas City.
Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 20, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph."
