We first find where Alf registered to vote in Houston County Texas 20 November 1869.

Alf is 21 years old on the 1880 Houston County Census. He tells the census taker he was born in Kentucky. He is living in Precinct 5. All the records we find, it seems Alf lived in the Wheeler Springs Community:

We find Alf Warfield 60 years old on the 1910 Houston County Census living with his wife Jane who is 54 years old. Also in the household are a servant Lillie Mae Taylor age 15 and Jessie Taylor lodger 8 years old. Alf tells the Census taker he was born in Kentucky as were both his parents.

HALL CEMETERY. Joshua James Hall (1790-1871) gave a portion of his land on this site about a mile from his homestead to be used as a burial ground. HALL CEMETERY was already in use when freedmen French Taylor (1842-1937), Bob Denby, and Alf Warfield petitioned Hall for permission to bury their dead in the graveyard.
