Brook Nef, 62, passed away October 17, 2015, after a hard fought battle with Parkinsons.

Brook was born December 7, 1952 in Ashton, Idaho, to Norman and Phyllis Allgood Nef. He attended elementary schools in Hibbard and Burton, and graduated from Madison High School.

Brook served a two-year LDS mission to Rome, Italy. After returning home he attended Ricks College.

He was married in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union was born Jill, Collette, LaChelle and Tyson. After 38 years this marriage ended in divorce.

He farmed with his Dad and brother David on the farm west of Idaho Falls for several years. He had a love for flying which led him to become an agricultural spray pilot. He started Nef Flying Service which he owned and operated for several years. Brook also flew as an Air Ambulance Pilot, flying several patients to areas in the Intermountain West area. He also flew for Corporate Air, flying Fed Ex cargo to Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

Brook was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including as bishop of the Idaho Falls 73rd Ward.

Brook was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Phyllis Nef; and grandparents: Paul and Geneva Neeley.

He is survived by his four children; 12 grandchildren; siblings: David (Arlene) Nef, of Idaho Falls, Julie (Wade) Saurey, of Rexburg, and Lori (Brad) Hill, of St. Anthony.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to services. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all those at Vibra Hospital in Boise for all the loving care that was given to Brook.
