Andrew Schwarz, a resident of Long Grove for the last five years, died at 7:30 a. m., today at his home after an illness of five years' duration.
The decedent was born July 9, 1896 in Butler township and was educated in the rural schools. He was married to Beatrice Olson, Nov. 18, 1925 in Davenport. After their marriage the couple farmed near Eldridge for two years when Mr Schwarz was forced to retire because of ill health. He was a World war veteran and a member of the Legion post of Eldridge.
Surviving besides the widow are one sister, Mrs Virginia Schmidt of LeClaire and five brothers, Hugo and Albert Schwarz of Eldridge, Richard of LeClaire, William of McCausland and Fred Schwarz of Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Runge chapel with burial in Pine Hill cemetery.
