Foster SLANKARD, Marian Holt
passed away Saturday, August 12, 2006, in St. George, Utah. She was born August 21, 1921, in Parowan, Utah to Joseph Woodruff and Mary Estella Adams Holt. She married Karl Foster in the St. George Temple on December 20, 1940. The couple were later divorced, and she married Wally Slankard in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 4, 1968. The Slankards lived in Lancaster and Palmdale, California for 30 years. Marian is survived by her husband, Wally Slankard of St. George; children, Shiela Rakoski of Palmdale, Calif., Susan Wade of Ada, Okla., and Steven Foster of St. George, Utah; two step-daughters, Kathy Davis and Cindy Slankard; and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2006, at the Bloomington LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 3159 Manzanita Rd., Bloomington, Utah. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at the chapel prior to the service. Interment will be in the Holt Family Cemetery in Enterprise, Utah. Arrangements are through Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221.
