Mrs. Lola Emery Baldwin, 81, widow of Charles Baldwin, former referee in bankruptcy for the Utah district, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at her home in the Belvedere apartments and hotel after a lingering illness.

She was born in Wapello, Iowa, February 3, 1860, and was reared and educated in Iowa. She was married to Charles Baldwin, then practicing law in Wapello, in 1878. After living a short time in Wapello, the couple moved to Burlington, Iowa. In 1887 they moved to Salt Lake City, where they lived until Mr. Baldwin died, April 1, 1920. Mrs. Baldwin was long an active member of the First Congregational church.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 5 p.m. at 574 East First South street, the Rev. George J. Weber of the First Congregational church officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W.Q. Van Cott of Salt Lake City; a brother and two sisters, W.H. Emery and Mrs. W.O. Orem of Salt Lake City and Miss Irene Emery of Los Angeles, Cal., and two granddaughters.
