Marjorie J. Deakin died of natural causes on October 12, 2015 at the Clayberg Fulton County Nursing Center in Cuba, Illinois.

She was the daughter of William and Loreine {McCaughey} Hamm of Bernadotte Township. She married Alan L. Deakin of Cuba, Illinois on August 14, 1941 in Bowling Green, Missouri. He died December 23, 1994.

Surviving are three children: Reita {David} Harn of Lewistown, Garrett {Kathy} Deakin of Springfield, Illinois, and Greg {Debora} Deakin of Cuba; and six grandchildren: Amy Deakin, Emily Harmony, Kristina Hurley, Rachel Lyons, Tiffany Deakin, and Colin Deakin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; three sisters; and one step-grandson. She was the sister-in-law of Mabel Graham & Girls of Fiatt, Illinois.
