Hugh Sharlow a lifelong and respected resident of Massena and vicinity, died at his home at Massena Springs last Saturday at noon after a final illness of only three days, although he had been in good health for some time. The funeral was held from the Catholic church Monday. Rev. Fr. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.
Hugh Sharlow was born in Brasher Falls January 2, 1848 where his early life was spent. Forty seven years ago he married Miss Mary Boyea of Cornwall and lived in Cornwall three years, then moved to Massena which has always since been his home. Ten children were born to them, seven of which are living besides his widow as follows: Samuel, David and Leonard Sharlow, Mrs. John Fregoe, Mrs. Charles Ashley and Mrs. James McGroty of Massena and Mrs. Bert Kirkey of Norwood.
