Mr. William Hanes Eakin, Jr., 84, of Georgetown, Georgia, died Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Crowne Health Care in Eufaula, Alabama. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 1 p.m., CDT, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. Dr. Kermit Soileau will officiate with Chapman Funeral Home directing. Born November 22, 1930 in Climax, Georgia, Mr. Eakin was the son of the late William Hanes and Jeannie Musgrove Eakin, Sr. Mr. Eakin was a United States Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the National Guard and the Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his brother Marion Eakin. Survivors include his wife, one son, three daughters, one daughter-in-law and three sons-in-law, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, four sisters, three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula, Alabama is in charge of arrangements.
