James A. Rolls, 86, of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, entered into God's Eternal Care on Oct. 5, 2015, at his home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Indiana, Pa., a son of the late Silas A. and Sara L. Rolls. James was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School in 1945 and a graduate of Penn State University in 1949 with a degree in chemical engineering.
James worked at BF Goodrich Chemical Company in Avon Lake, Ohio, as a plastics engineer. He later worked as a development engineer for Diamond Shamrock in Painesville, Ohio, and for Lamson and Session in Beachwood, Ohio.
James was a Mason. He was also a member of the Fairport Museum and the Borough Tree Committee. He enjoyed following the Stock Market, collecting coins, hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.
He is survived by two sons, Randall J. Rolls of Littlestown, Pa., and Frederick A. Rolls of Fairport Harbor, Ohio; a daughter, Joyce Rolls and husband Richard Mann of Milford, Michigan; two grandsons, Brandon Rolls and Martin Mann; three brothers, Eugene Rolls and wife Gail of Littlestown, Pa., John Rolls and wife Priscilla of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Richard Rolls and wife Jean of Russell, Pa.; a sister, Janet and husband Dr. Culver Miller of Forest, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene Dinger; two sisters, Marion Stamler and Ellen Joan James; and his wife, Barbara Hambor.
