Ronald Douglas Hickerson Sept. 11, 1933 - Aug. 11, 2006 Doug was born in Hollis, OK. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hickerson; son, Glen Hickerson; daughters, Mary (Michael) Flemig, Karen (Vince) Wojcak; grandchildren, Kimberly Barrett, Benjamin & Jessica Hickerson, Blake & Brett Wojcak; brothers, Dwain Hickerson, Clyde Hickerson, Neil Hickerson; and sister, Doris Avants. He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Lou Slyvester and his step-father Ben Sylvester, father Ernest Hickerson and step-mother Mable Hickerson, and his brother Glen H. Hickerson. Doug graduated from Gould High School in Harmon County in 1952. In 1953, Doug and Virginia Fra Barr married and soon after Doug joined the United States Army serving 3 years. Upon returning home, Doug started his career with SWB Telephone retiring after 35 years. While working, Doug attended Oklahoma City University receiving his Bachelor's in Business in 1966. Doug was an avid fisherman throughout his life as well as a fan of OU sports. He was a loving husband, father, and friend and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 900 N. Key Blvd. Midwest City, OK where Doug was a member and Elder for over 40 years. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of MWC. Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home 1820 S. Douglas Blvd Midwest City 733-2991
