Early Life: Red was born December 20, 1926, to Solon Earl and Emma "LaPreal" Groesbeck Haymond.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: As a member of the United States Army, Red faithfully served his country with a deep sense of honor, loyalty and patriotism. In the world of construction, he was one of the best. His name and expertise are associated with numerous projects throughout Utah, Nevada and Idaho. He had a second home with W.W. Clyde Company and worked for them for over thirty years. He earned many honors and awards for his work including Superintendent of the Year for the State of Utah. He was very proud of his accomplishments and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union for over 65 years. He was a man who lived by his values of working hard, giving service to others and providing for his family. He had a heart of gold and a tender side that he kept hidden from most and reserved for his family. He was complex in his methods, yet simple in his lifestyle. He was a doted husband, loving father and doting grandfather and found great joy spending time with his grandchildren. He was a small aircraft pilot and enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, and "Club." L. Wood "Red" Haymond, a strong and loving father, passed peacefully from this life on September 28, 2015.

Survived By: His sweetheart of 68 years, Betty Haymond; three children: Julie (Mikel) Axelgard, Valerie (Scott) Staheli and Jon Eric (Ann) Haymond; daughter-in-law, Vicki Haymond; brother, Dean (Mildred) Haymond; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His eldest son, Russell Earl Haymond; his parents; great-grandson, Joshua A. Axelgard; seven brothers and four sisters.
