Alene Conkel, 84, of State Route 23 South, Waverly, Ohio passed 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Alene was born January 8, 1931 in Lucasville, Ohio the daughter of the late Harlen Conkel and Jypsie (Carter) Conkel. Surviving are her two sisters, a brother, of Ashville, Ohio, eighteen nieces and nephews, twenty-two great nieces and nephews, thirteen great great nieces and nephews. Her parents, two brothers, Ray and William Conkel and a sister, Mae Conkel preceded Alene in death. Alene retired in 2000 as a nursing aide for the Pike Community Hospital with 21 years of service. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Boyer Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Reed, officiating. Burial will follow in Omega Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio. Friends may call at the Boyer Funeral Home 4-8 p.m. Friday and noon until the time of service on Saturday.
